I've always been passionate about bringing things to life through creativity.
Back in 2023, I realized just how scented candles could bring life and comfort to a room, all through something as simple as a little light and fragrance. Soon enough, I found myself delving into a whole new hobby and looking for excuses to make candles and share the magic with my friends and family!
After a stroke of inspiration, I found myself making branded materials for a "fake" candle brand inspired by cozy fantasy. Just something to make gift-giving a little more fun, I told myself.
After months of learning the fantastic blend of art and science that is candle-making, I created my first collection: a set of candles for my Dungeons & Dragons group, and more importantly some of my best friends, with each candle being based on their characters! Seeing the joy it inspired in them also inspired something in me: a passion to share this magic with others!
And so began my small-business journey in earnest in 2025! I realized I wanted to create a brand that was all about the ambiance candles can bring combined with the magic and whimsy of cozy fantasy.
More importantly, I wanted to create something that showed in rough times, even a candle's warm glow and appealing fragrance can create that bit of comfort that's a light in the darkness.
I spent months testing candles, developing my own curated fragrance blends, and sometimes having to revamp entire processes when things didn't turn out as expected. Through all the successes and learning experiences though, that excitement from making candles and hope to share them with people never went away.
When I developed what would become our core collection of candles: The Colors of Magic, I knew this could be something real. As of May 30, 2025, now it finally is.
I'm so excited to share the magic of The Light Fantastic and our cozy fantasy candles with you! I hope they can show you the magic in the mundane, create the comfort you need, and ultimately be your little light at the far side of darkness.
